Avoriaz Ski Resort Holidays
The Avoriaz ski resort can be found in the French Alps on the Hauts Fort mountain. The resort was developed by Olympic champion, Jean Vuarnet and built very close to the Swiss border with the nearest city being Geneva. It is a reasonably young resort which develops more and more each year, bringing more skiing and other winter sport opportunities to hand, such as more Avoriaz chalets being built and lengthening the pistes. Avoriaz is part of the Portes du Soleil which is an area which encompasses 13 major ski resorts in the French and Swiss Alps including resorts such as Morzine and Chatel allowing people to ski freely between countries. The Portes du Soleil boasts a total skiing area of 650 kilometres which means the Avoriaz ski resort is located in one of the largest skiing areas in the world!
Whether pistes, free style or cross country skiing is your thing, you're definitely catered for on Avoriaz ski holidays. Thanks to the vast size of the skiable area, you're never short of options and you'll never ski the same piste twice (Unless you want to of course.). In the Avioraz ski resort, beginners have a selection of 153 runs, the intermediates have a selection of 127 runs, and the advanced skiers have a selection of 28 runs!
