Telluride holiday rentals – one of Colorado's top holiday destinations
Originally a mining town, when the industry went into decline in the seventies, Telluride's first ski lift went up. Over the years, Telluride's reputation has developed from Colorado's Best Kept Secret, to a notorious smugglers' playground, to the home of a top class ski resort that combines modern facilities with Wild West history (it was here in 1889 that Butch Cassidy robbed his first bank!)
ATelluride holiday rental is a great and affordable way to experience one of the USA's Top Ten ski resorts, making it comparable to European resorts such as St Anton or Kitzbühel. Telluride has over 2,000 acres of skiable terrain and 127 runs. Confident and advanced skiers will be happiest here; over 40% of the pistes are expert level – including some “EX” extreme terrain - but there is a great ski school, and one of the beginner runs is an impressive 4.5 miles long. You can also enjoy hiking, cross country skiing, and dog sledding, among other winter activities. There are also plenty of après ski bars both on and off the slopes, and everything is within easy access of your Telluride holiday rental.
Non-skiers will be just as content to rent a holiday apartment in Telluride at any time of year. The town is home to a number of festivals including Telluride Film Festival, Mountainfilm in Telluride, and the Blues & Brews Festival. In summer you can also enjoy a range of outdoor activities, such as golf, biking, hiking, fishing, and paddleboarding. The views of the terrain are great all year round, but are particularly spectacular in summer when it's sunny.
