Oban holiday homes - "The Gateway to the Islands"
Oban is one of the largest towns in Argyll and Bute, and is popular in the summer because there's so much to do. Booking a holiday cottage in Oban is affordable and great if you want to have your own space to relax in after a day full of activities. Oban's most famous landmark is McCaig's Tower, a coliseum-like tower on a hill overlooking the town. There are many castles and fortresses in the area, such as the 13th century Dunstaffnage, which has an interesting history as it was captured by the famous Robert Bruce. The War and Peace Museum which covers the history and culture of the town, is also absolutely worth a visit. Oban's distillery runs regular tours and even has a tasting bar!
