Nairn holiday cottages - the best of the Highlands
Dog owners will love a long weekend in a holiday cottage Nairn - many of our rental properties are pet friendly, as is the lovely Nairn Beach. The extensive, sandy beach is one of Moray's most loved, and is popular with dog walkers, joggers and picnickers. The water around Nairn is one of few places in the UK where you can see bottlenose dolphins; you may be able to spot them from the shore, and you can also join a boat trip out into Moray Firth to get closer to these amazing animals. It's not far from Nairn to Loch Ness if you also want to try your hand at spotting the Loch Ness Monster. Nessieland in Drumnadrochit is an entertaining and informative museum of evidence and sightings, which both parents and children will certainly enjoy. Of course, there are also impressive castles near Nairn - the 14th century Cawdor Castle and 16th century Brodie Castle – and it's not far to some of the most famous whiskey distilleries in Scotland, such as Glenfiddich, in Dufftown, and Glenlivet in Ballindalloch, on the edge of Cairngorms National Park, where you'll also find Balmoral Castle, the Queen's summer residence. With a Nairn holiday cottage you have everything within reach: a great beach, interesting wildlife, typically Scottish castles and whiskey, and Inverness, the largest nearby city, has all the amenities you could need, plus interesting museums such as Ship Space and the Highland Aviation Museum.
