Take a Trip to Salcombe
The most southern part of devon, and one of the most southernly places in England, Salcombe makes for a great summer holiday in Salcombe holiday homes. This coastal town, which was famous for crabbing prior to its tourism boom, is now famous for its beaches and stunningly beautiful villages. Salcombe holiday homes also attract many holidaymakers who have an interest in sailing possibly due to the sailing regatta held there every August, similar to that of Kiel Week in Germany. However Salcombe doesn't just offer sailing, but an incredible choice of water-sports such as Kayaking, canoeing and surfing just to name a few. For another great British watersport destination, check out our holiday homes in Abersoch, Wales.
Fun for the whole family
Salcombe offers plenty of picturesque views that can be experienced on one of the many scenic walking trails or on a boat trip in the estuary. Salcombe's famous estuary stretches for 6 kilometres through the town and has even longer stretches of beaches which are perfect for summer holidays in a Salcombe holiday home. Salcombe holiday cottages are popular family holiday destinations as there is something for people of all ages. Deeper into the town you will find many museums and traditional English cafés and restaurants, and along the coast you will find many historical buildings and other places of interest such as the ruins of Fort Charles, built during the English civil war in the 17th century.
