Accessability and getting around the area:
Holiday homes in Porthcurno can be easily reached by road or by bus from Penzance to the nearest small town of St Buryan. There is a railway 11km away in the market town of Penzance and 4 km from Land's End, the most westerly point of the English mainland. A low-frequency bus service links Penzance, Lands’ End and nearby villages and hamlets including Newlyn, Paul, Treen, Trethewey, Polgigga and Sennen, so there’s plenty of places nearby to explore. If you choose to fly the nearest airport is St Just Land’s End airport (1hr 30 mins) or Exeter airport (3 hours).
Activities and amenities in Porthcurno:
This small village has a range of facilities including shops, pubs and visitor attractions to explore and never far away from any holiday property. The nearest supermarket is a 10-minute drive to St Buryan (Londis). In the summer months Porthcurno is popular with families on holiday with young children who enjoy playing on the beach and perhaps some supervised bathing, as the beach is prone to strong rip currents. On the cliffs to the west of Porthcurno is the famous Minack Theatre. This open-air venue offers superb views across Porthcurno Bay as far as The Lizard. Between May and September each year, performances are given by a variety of theatrical companies.
