Things to see in Valencia

There is a lot to see and do in Valencia, and you can discover many impressive sights just by walking around the city. A good place to start would be Valencia's Old Town. Dating back to the 13th century, Valencia Cathedral is a good example of early Gothic architecture. Throughout history, restorations and additions have also given the cathedral aspects of Romanesque and Baroque architecture, making it an interesting building. Perhaps the most famous feature of the cathedral is the octagonal bell tower - this is one of Valencia's most famous landmarks and from the top you can enjoy fantastic views of the city! Not far from the cathedral, the Turia River runs through the city and the riverside area is incredibly beautiful. There are three magnificent bridges worth visiting - Puente del Real, Puente de la Trinidad and Puente de Serrano. Puente de Serrano has two stunning towers that were once part of the city walls!

As mentioned above, Valencia is set in lush surroundings with the perfect conditions for rich plant life, and there are many parks and gardens in the city. If you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, visit the Jardines de la Alameda or the Jardines de Monforte - both dating back to the 18th century.
