I was in Malaga with a friend in September. The city is the gateway to Andalusia and is therefore unfortunately overcrowded with tourists. Nevertheless, it is very easy to visit as many attractions are close to the centre. As you are bound to end up in Malaga on a tour of Andalusia due to the airport, it makes sense to explore the city a little.
Highligts
The highlight of Málaga is that the city offers many cultural sights. Many museums and castles are located close to the city centre and can be visited without much effort. The harbour and a visit to a local restaurant are also not to be missed!
Hidden gems
The Alcazaba is an inexpensive attraction close to the city centre. This is an old castle that can be climbed, with a hiking trail behind it
Destination recommendation
Málaga is the centre of Andalusia and is also "very much on the way" on a round trip due to the airport. It's worth stopping off!
Pros
Good infrastructure (airport, train, bus)
Cons
Overrun by tourists

Spring in Andalusia traditionally starts with a visit to Malaga. After we had completed the standard programme, a visit to the Alcazaba and the Castillo de Gibralfaroq, we went to the Centre Pompidou, which was a worthwhile detour. In the evening we found an absolutely authentic tapas bar, the Mesón Mariano, which simply had delicious tapas. Afterwards, you can really immerse yourself in the nightlife. There was a crowded bar with a very loud crowd on every corner. The nightlife goes on until dawn, even during the week.

My holiday in Málaga was definitely unforgettable. My personal highlight was the crocodile park. There are many beautiful and, above all, large animals here. I don't have a direct insider tip. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed a walk along the NUSI Lago de Pesca. I spent a lovely evening with my family in the Calnmor bar. I can give my holiday 5 stars with a clear conscience.
