Known as the City of the Three Cultures, the Spanish city of Toledo has had much historic importance to those of Christian, Muslim and Jewish heritage, a city of such uniqueness that it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Toledo is perched on a relatively low hill and is surrounded by the Tagus river on three sides, giving the illusion the city is on an island. Situated in the north-west of the county, Castile–La Mancha, Toledo is 70km south of Spain's capital.
