For me, it's a very special city, the atmosphere is simply indescribable and there's so much to discover. If you are there for the first time, you should definitely visit the Elevador de Santa Justa, but also take a ride on the famous tram line 28, as well as visit the Castello de São Jorge, where you have very good views over the city when the weather is good. Unfortunately, I've noticed that prices have risen more and more recently, but they're still not overpriced like elsewhere. A delicious restaurant that I recommend is A Provinciana

Lisbon is a wonderful city with a lot of character and a great many historical sights. I would definitely like to mention the National Museum of Ethnology as a highlight. Here you can visit a unique exhibition for an absolutely customer-friendly entrance fee. As an insider tip, I can recommend an evening stroll in the city centre. Lisbon is the perfect holiday destination.
I really enjoyed the National Museum of Ethnology.

A large, beautiful, diverse city with a lot to offer. From large cathedrals to small cafés. In the city itself, I either travelled by public transport or on foot. The best places I found were the Parça do Comércio, Lisbon Cathedral and Carmo Convent. A delicious restaurant was Belcanto. The city is definitely worth a visit!
I had a look at the city and its sights

I think Lisbon is a very beautiful old city that is well suited to a city break. We were there for just under a week, which was enough if you want to see everything. October was extremely suitable as it was still warm but no longer too hot. Sights that I recommend are: Alfama, Upper Town, Baixa, Belem and the Expo site. My top restaurants were Restaurante Faz Frio and Café Cotidiano.
Viewed many well-known sights and explored the city

The trip to Lisbon was well worth seeing. My favourite part was the street art in the city, which is very nice to look at. The food was also very tasty. The Invicta restaurant served great fish for dinner. The public transport system is very well developed and very good for getting to any destination. On my next trip there, I would book the trip earlier as it makes it easier to plan time to visit the many city sights. All in all, it was a great trip with very enjoyable experiences.
An absolute highlight was the Estadio da Luz football stadium. We had a guided tour of the stadium, which was very exciting and enjoyable. Another great experience was the Invicta restaurant, which was delicious.
A great insider tip is the beautiful street art in Lisbon, which is some of the most famous in the world.

In addition to a wide range of accommodation, the capital of Portugal offers its visitors an enviable gastronomic variety. In each region there are star dishes, and Lisbon is the city that concentrates the best of each area of the country through a varied offer of restaurants; from small establishments to large and elegant luxury restaurants, through fantastic pastry shops and neighborhood restaurants with delicious menus.
The most consumed meat in Portuguese territory is pork, which, cooked in different variants, is one of the essential dishes to taste during your stay in an apartment in Portugal. In this sense, one of the most popular recipes is the porco à alentejana, a delicious combination of pork, potato, clams, paprika and coriander. Migas à alentejana is another typical dish with pork and bread. The restaurant Claras em Castelo, located next to the Castle of São Jorge, includes both recipes in its interesting menu.
For its part, cod is the most typical fish in Portugal and is present in many recipes, such as cod à bras, cod with cream or cod croquettes. Caldereta de peixe can also be tasted in many places in the capital, as it is one of the most famous Portuguese stews. As for pastries, Belém cakes and cheese tartlets stand out. Remember that the best gastronomic corners of Lisbon are in La Baixa, Bairro Alto and Chiado.
In the streets of Barrio Alto you will find live music clubs, where you can enjoy the traditional fado, typical Portuguese music with melancholic tints. A Tasca do Chico or Cine Theatro Gymnasio are good examples. The intimate atmosphere that is created in them is really unique.
Once at your accommodation in Lisbon, start your Portuguese journey by visiting the Comercio Square, one of the most elegant in Europe, with its spectacular porticoes, the Rua Augusta arch and the bronze statue of José I in the center. Given its proximity, 2460 feet, take the opportunity to go to another emblematic place, Rossio Square, the nerve center of the city. Before returning to your accommodation, enjoy an unmissable experience: climb the neo-Gothic elevator of Santa Justa to enjoy magnificent views. This is just a two-minute walk from Rossio.
After resting in your accommodation, the next day you can start where you left off, since next to the aforementioned elevator is one of the most peculiar churches in Portugal, the church of Convento do Carmo, located in the neighborhood of El Chiado, where one of the main attractions is located. For its part, the Alfama neighborhood, also central and picturesque, brings together beautiful and important buildings, including the Sé de Lisboa, a beautiful Romanesque cathedral perfectly preserved.
Do not leave your accommodation without visiting the neighborhood of Belém, less than 4 kilometers from the center, which has as its main monument its namesake tower, which was named a World Heritage Site. And if you are one of those who do not stop still in your holiday apartment, make the most of the rest of your stay in Lisbon by visiting the castle of St. George, the Jeronimos monastery, the Park of Nations or the sculpture of Christ the King.
Founded in 1501, it is one of the main attractions of the Belém neighborhood. It stands out for its Manueline style elements, which is based on combining Gothic and Renaissance architectural features. In it is possible to visit the tombs of Vasco de Gama and LuÃs de Camões.
In the heart of the historic center and on top of a hill, this castle presides over the city in an imposing way. From it you will enjoy unbeatable views of the Portuguese capital. This construction stands out for its perfectly preserved walls from the sixth century.
This is the most emblematic and picturesque area of Lisbon. Built on a hill around the 16th century, this neighborhood is famous for the graffiti on its walls, its bars and live music clubs.
The most famous monument of the Portuguese capital, also made following the outlines of Manueline architecture. Located at the mouth of the Tagus, this tower was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.
On the site of the 1998 Expo is this great museum of marine biology. Its curious architecture reminiscent of an aircraft carrier and the species that can be seen in its main tank, such as sharks and barracudas, are more than enough reasons to justify a visit.
