We really enjoyed the Algarve. There is a wide variety of nature and a large selection of beaches. If you like shopping, you won't be left empty-handed here either. There are many large shopping centres in the Algarve, so there is something for everyone. All in all, travelling here is highly recommended.

We were in Albufeira and in Faro it was a super great time in Albufeira at the navy you can experience a lot (book) we have booked a few excursions there see dolphins, jet boating for those who want some action or in the evening we went by boat into the sunset with BBQ 🍖 was very nice I can really only recommend it to everyone to visit Portugal it is very worthwhile. The people are super nice and talk a lot about this beautiful country. We also did a quad bike tour in the forests of Albufeira, which was very nice and we were guided, they told us everything and showed us, for example, how cork is mined there. We ate a lot of fish there in the small restaurants in the side streets, which are great, not necessarily in the main streets with the tourists, the small ones there taste very, very good. You can actually reach everything in Albufeira on foot

The sea near Faro is very beautiful, but very cold in the early months. However, the sandy beach is fantastic and the temperatures are pleasant at around 20-25°. The coasts near Faro are very beautiful, as you can hike there very well, but you can also see rocky coasts where you can take good photos.

Self catering Algarve villas and Algarve apartments to rent
With amazing Algarve villas available, along with many other Algarve holiday rentals, this location seems to be a wonderful Iberian alternative to crowded coastal destinations in Spain, as does the Basque Country, as it has its own separate, proud identity. Pacific Portugal reaches the height of serenity upon its southern coast, where white sand beaches are often quiet enough for you to hear the soothing sound of waves lapping against the shore from the waterfront. The white-walled buildings here – both interior and exterior – offer that cool comfort of Mediterranean insulation throughout the hot summer months, perfect for when you're relaxing in your holiday rentals in Algarve.
Take in the stunning view of Algarve's finest beaches
The locals are kind, the beaches stunning, the orchards full of sweet juicy oranges, the weather warm and sunny, and the variety of historical attractions from as far back as the Celtic and Roman era enough to keep you interested for a long while – as if rest and relaxation weren’t enough! Of course the Algarve may be known as a beach holiday destination, for example for example Algarve holiday rentals Praia de Carvoeiro is a great choice for a family trip to the beach with its silky soft white sand and plenty of cafes and bars nearby. Not all the beaches in Algarve offer such flat, combed sand. Indeed, the spectacular coastline of Praia de Marinha, which lies between Lagos and Albufeira, provides a view which is nothing less than remarkable. This beach is just across the bay from Morocco, where you could travel to Fes or Tangier. The turquoise North Atlantic sweeps up against rocky, tan-white cliffside and rock formations jutting out into the sea. This must be a geologist’s paradise, as the layers of tightly packed sandstone reveal millennia of sedimentary wonder. You will feel swept away by the beauty of the Algarve as you stare out at the view of the seemingly endless sea from the patio of your holiday villa and breathe in the fresh, coastal air and the warm trade winds that gently caress your face.
Get active during your holiday in the Algarve
If staring at the ocean from the balcony of your rental property here isn’t enough, why not head out to the water? Yachting is popular, and excursions go out regularly from places such as the prestigious marina in Vilamoura. Golfing is also popular in the Algarve, with a number of golf resorts perched in prime locations that feature breathtaking views of the ocean. For all the carefree sumptuousness of such subdued luxury, there are also active pursuits during the day – for those looking to do something other than just lounging in perfect idleness beneath Algarve’s year-round sun – and the pace does pick up a bit at night, when Portuguese locals and travellers alike replace the sunlight with neon lights at a number of discos, bars and nightclubs in this area. Indeed, the towns in this region have a nationwide reputation for hard-core festivity, in which you are highly recommended to partake. Of course for those on family breaks there is a mellow, family-oriented aspect to this southern Portuguese area, with fine restaurants and wonderful self catering Algarve apartments.
