I travelled to Amsterdam with my sister for 4 days in May. Travelling by plane was quick and cheap. We travelled from the airport to the city by train. Booking the right ticket required a lot of advice, as the layout of the city is very confusing for strangers. With a 72-hour ticket, we were able to use all the trains within the city! the trains. The House of Rituals was my absolute highlight. A wellness and relaxation temple in a class of its own. We were there for several hours on two days. The Upside Down was a great photo museum where you could take photos of yourself in funny settings. You could also use the fixed cameras and download the pictures for free at the end. The local cuisine is simply delicious. We ate twice in the cross street next to the House of Rituals. Paying by card was no problem everywhere. A boat tour (with a canopy) showed us Amsterdam from a completely different perspective. The little houses are very pretty and the water adds beauty to the city. Hotels are very expensive, as are most restaurants and bars. I wouldn't go back in May as the weather was unfortunately rainy and cold all the time. Definitely nicer in summer. The local waffles are not worth the money, very sweet - you just have to like them. Shopping, on the other hand, is great fun. The shops offer plenty of choice and comparable German prices. If you like city trips, you'll be busy enough in four days. I wouldn't stay any longer.

The history of Amsterdam is even explained in German on the boat tour. Simply walk along the waterfront and choose the cheapest offer.

Yes definitely, culture and city mixed in a modern way.

We went on a short trip to Amsterdam. We visited a cheese market there. This always takes place on Wednesday mornings. There is a great selection of different cheeses there, and we took plenty of them home with us. The town itself is easy to get around on foot or by bike. We didn't need a car. The Dutch pay well for parking. That's why we travelled by train. There are various snack points on every corner where you can enjoy typical Dutch specialities. The prices are perfectly reasonable. Apart from that, I can only recommend everyone to take a canal cruise. It's a great way to get to know the city from the water.

Highligts

We took a lovely canal trip. There are great places to have breakfast. There is a weekly cheese market. Great bars in the evening.

Amsterdam is an incredibly beautiful city with a lot of character. One of the highlights of my stay was the Anne Frank House. The history of Anne Frank's life during the war is impressively presented here. I don't have a direct insider tip, but I have to mention the Van Gogh Museum as a unique attraction. There are many inviting restaurants in Amsterdam.

I was totally captivated by Amsterdam! The canals, the bicycles, the whole atmosphere - simply amazing. I was particularly impressed by the Anne Frank House. The story behind it is really cool, and the cramped conditions in which Anne Frank lived really make you think. The canal tour was also really cool. Sailing through the canals on such a cosy boat was not only relaxing, but also offered a great view of the city. All the houses and bridges are really picturesque. At the Van Gogh Museum, I got a real insight into his creative world. The collection of his works is really impressive. An absolute must-see for art lovers. I was lucky with the food - in De Pijp, a lively neighbourhood, I enjoyed a traditional Dutch breakfast in a small café. Poffertjes, those little fluffy pancakes, are amazing. Served with fresh coffee - the perfect start to the day. Getting around Amsterdam is really easy. There are bikes for hire everywhere, and cruising through the city by bike is just great. The flat landscape and the extra cycle paths make it really pleasant. If I travelled there again, I would perhaps avoid the main tourist hotspots at peak times. Dam Square and the Rijksmuseum can be really crowded. Instead, I would try to visit these places in the early morning or late evening hours to fully enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of these places.

Amsterdam is a unique holiday destination. Visiting the Anne Frank House was very impressive for me. I associate it with an emotionally stirring history. I don't have a direct insider tip, but I can highly recommend a walk in the historic city centre. The numerous pubs and parks provide plenty of variety.
