Perast holiday rentals – a quaint and peaceful cultural landmark in the Bay of Kotor
The last stronghold of the Venetian republic, the buildings – such as the tiny but impressive baroque St Mark’s Church, and the above mentioned palaces – are perfectly preserved. One, the Bujović Palace, has been converted into Perast Museum. Two other churches worth visiting are the Church of Our Lady on the Rock, perched on a small island in the bay, and St Nicholas’ Church, whose bell tower you can climb, which contains valuable paintings, as well as vestments and relics. Perast has a waterfront promenade that is excellent for sunbathing, and a few stony beaches leading to the crystal clear water. We have many holiday rentals Perast that are less than 200m from the water. Perast is ideally positioned to make a few day trips to nearby villages like Risan, or across the water to Donji Stoliv. Perast also has a number of unusual traditions, such as Fasinada, on the 22nd of July, where the locals take their boats out to Our Lady of the Rock and drop stones around the island – this is symbolic, but also to reinforce the structure. Come and stay in a Perast holiday rental in the second week of August to see Montenegro’s only festival of klape, or traditional bands.
