Holiday accommodation Messina - Villa Messina & Messina apartments
This area of Italy is known for being the hometown of many historical painters (including the eponymous Antonello da Messina) and due to its fabulous architecture and its vast array of things to see and do, has also emerged as a great place for tourists to spend their holidays. Located on the most easterly part of Sicily and looking directly across at Villa San Giovanni - the toe of Italy's boot – Messina is easily accessible, both from mainland Italy or from Sicily's international airport in Palermo. Your Messina apartment or villa Messina should be your first stop upon arrival in Sicily. You will no doubt want to set down your baggage and freshen up after a long journey before heading out to explore the region. You won't be disappointed with your Messina accommodation arrangements. Offering the most up-to-date facilities, and oozing with comfort and style, you'll be looking forward to returning to your inviting bed before you've even set off into the city centre! Don't dwell too long on the interior design though – there's plenty to see and do!
Holiday villa Messina - Italian style Messina accommodation
Culture and tradition are the two core values present in this holiday resort. We recommend taking a trip to a nearby village at some point during your stay in a villa Messina. Here, you will be afforded with an insight into the more traditional way of life present in Messina, and, if you're lucky, you may well be able to sample a freshly produced local specialty. Black swine sausages may not sound like a very appetising prospect, but are a must-try for any daring food-lover. If you prefer a more traditional menu, then the Italian restaurants located throughout the region are a more safer bet. No trip to this area of Sicily is complete without a visit to Mount Etna. This famous landmark that is but a few minutes drive from the city and is regarded as one of the most active volcanoes in the world, making it the perfect tourist site for geologists, historians and anyone who wishes to be amazed by the power of nature. Surprisingly, the slopes of Mount Etna provide a fertile soil perfect for vineyards and orchards. A visit to the lovely city Catania - second largest in Sicily - is also highly recommended. In case you are up to a longer trip, you can also go up to Calabria and visit Lamezia Terme, famous for its thermal springs, a splendid cathedral and castle ruin. Keep your eye-out for a bottle of locally-produced volcanic wine – the perfect souvenir, or, if you're not that patient, the perfect tipple for an evening spent on the balcony of your comfortable Messina accommodation, like one of our Messina apartments or a lovely villa Messina.
