Enjoy a holiday in southern Italy with a villa in Brindisi
Brindisi is a flourishing port on the Adriatic Sea in Salento, sometimes also nicknamed the heel of Italy. It has a population of almost 90,000 and is served by a small airport, and a train station with connections to Ancona and Lecce, among other cities. You could catch a ferry from there to Kefalonia, Corfu, or Zakynthos - or you could rent a villa in Brindisi and discover the charming side of the city for yourself.
Brindisi accommodation - culture, beaches, and bella cucina
This is best done on foot - stroll down the Corso Garibaldi and the newly revamped waterfront, explore the relatively compact centre, discover small restaurants serving the freshest seafood and tastiest pizzas and orecchiette pasta. Brindisi produces some great Italian products, like Limoncello, a potent lemon liquer, cheeses such as ricotta and pecorino, and red and rosé wines. There are plenty of monuments, museums and beautiful churches to be seen when you rent a villa in Brindisi. The Museo Archaeologico Provinciale Ribezzo has a sizeable and interesting collection, and the Palazzo Granafei Nervegna and Palazzo del Seminario are both worth a visit. While Brindisi's coast line is beautiful, you do have to leave the city to get the best beaches - fortunately it's not far to some beautiful ones, such as those at Specchiolla near Carovigno, or Campo di Mare. Nature lovers will also enjoy visiting the natural park Torre Guaceto, under 30 kilometres away from your Brindisi accommodation, where you can hike and bike, and see plenty of flora and fauna.
