The trip to Haslach was a complete success. We went hiking with the children, visited delicious restaurants, experienced the culture in the monastery church and learnt about customs and traditions. This town in the Kingstal valley has probably preserved most of its customs to this day. We learnt about the customs of St Nicholas. The large nativity scene with live animals was the highlight of the Advent season. The children were thrilled and so were we.
Black Forest Costume Museum displays life-size and lifelike original traditional costumes. It is located in the old Capuchin monastery.

We were in beautiful Haslach during Advent. It was definitely worth a trip in winter and at Christmas time. We went hiking and visited the monastery church. We learnt about the customs and traditions here. The Kingstal valley is beautiful and this is where the town of Haslach has preserved most of its customs to this day. What was really great was the large nativity scene with real animals. A highlight in the run-up to Christmas. We were thrilled.

We visited many different places during our holiday. We travelled on the Kandertalbahn and the Sauschwänzlebahn. We were in Titisee-Neustadt. There we took a boat trip across Lake Titisee. The next day we visited the Schniederlihof. The food there was delicious. We also hike a lot and go to the Feldberg and the Belchen. It is better to rent a holiday home as this is simply more flexible.
We were in Titisee Neustadt. We went boating there. We also travelled on the Kandertalbahn, which I really enjoyed as a steam train fan. It was also great for hiking, especially on the Belchen. The Steinwasenpark was also a great family experience.
If you like travelling by steam locomotive, the Kandertalbahn is usually less popular, but is actually nicer than the Sauschwänzlebahn.
Because the holiday there was extremely relaxing and both the nature and other activities there are very beautiful.

We travelled to Freiburg with friends to see the city and then go hiking in the Black Forest. The hikes were just great. We had delicious meals in various restaurants. The city is really beautiful. It has a great city centre and lovely shops. We also went to the ostriches outside. These are really great restaurants where you can drink good wine.

A relaxing short trip to the Black Forest! The nature is breathtaking and the hiking trails are well signposted. The accommodation was cosy and the food was traditionally delicious, albeit in the slightly more expensive price segment. A perfect destination for nature and relaxation lovers.
