Apartments Friedrichshain - hip Berlin
Friedrichshain is in the east of Berlin, bordered by Prenzlauer Berg to the north, Lichtenberg to the east, the river Spree and Kreuzberg to the south, and Mitte to the west. It is one of the hippest areas in the city, and home to many world famous clubs. There's so much to see if you have an apartment Friedrichshain, so its best to explore on foot or on a bicycle so you can take it all in, particularly the street art. The area is also full of theatres and cultural event spaces.
Some of the must-sees when you stay in Friedrichshain apartments include the East Side Gallery, a section of the Berlin Wall that is still standing and has been covered in impressive and often thought-provoking art by 118 artists from 21 countries, Boxhagener Platz, where one of the city's best flea markets takes places, and Karl-Marx-Allee. It is a wide, grey boulevard that used to be a popular and exciting place to shop, now it serves as a reminder of the GDR. Another poignant reminder is the Stasi Museum, not far east of Friedrichshain, in Lichtenberg. The Volkspark Friedrichshain is home to the lovely Märchenbrunnen, or fairytale fountain, a large neo-baroque fountain and sculpture installation, a must see on a sunny day during a stay in an apartment Friedrichshain.
