The first time I went on holiday to Stuttgart, I immediately fell in love with the city. I've now lived here for 8 years and have visited all the places in the city. What I like best is the city centre with the Schlossplatz and the Schlossgarten. I highly recommend travelling there in winter, as the Stuttgart Christmas market is one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany. You can travel anywhere in the city by tram.

Highligts

Wilhelma was very nice. I really liked the view from the television tower. Solitude Palace was very interesting to see. The Stuttgart Christmas market was my personal highlight.

Hidden gems

The Breuninger in Stuttgart is a very nice shop. Wilhelma is also a must-see.

Destination recommendation

I would recommend the destination as there is something for every age group.

Pros

Clean city

Good rail connections

Cons

Train tickets are relatively expensive

The whole trip was quite nice, especially when I was travelling in Reutlingen. Full stop. I mostly ate in my accommodation with family members. Public transport is okay, but not very punctual. However, when you arrive at the main station, I would avoid walking around alone in the area, as there are a lot of strange people walking around who also approach you.

Highligts

Nice outlet shopping centre. Walking through the castle park is also a nice activity. There are also many beautiful lakes to visit in the summer and many different clubs.

Hidden gems

If you want to go shopping, you can go to the Outlet Centre Metzingen. You can also spend the whole day there.

Destination recommendation

For some people, it is definitely a destination that can be recommended

Pros

Nice shops for shopping

Nice restaurants in the city

Cons

Not very nice city centre

The people are not very helpful and polite

I would like to start with my personal favourite, the Mercedes-Benz Museum. Here you can see numerous cars, engines and much more from the history of Mercedes for a fair entrance fee. The absolute top place for shopping is Königsstraße, where there really is something for every taste. There is something for everyone in Stuttgart, whether it's cultural or entertainment. The accommodation is also very affordable. The burger at the "Burger Place" was absolutely excellent. Recommendation!

Highligts

I really liked the Mercedes Museum. As a car enthusiast, the visit is very worthwhile

Hidden gems

For people who like to go shopping, I recommend a visit to the Königsstraße

Stuttgart is a very nice destination for city lovers. My favourite places were the large Schlossplatz square with the Ferris wheel and Stuttgart Zoo. I had by far the best meals at Kirchtal in Stuttgart-Feuerbach and Wichtel in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, both highly recommended. The infrastructure in Stuttgart is very good and the trains are very well organised and punctual. So it's very easy to get from A to B. On my next trip, I would avoid the Hallschlag neighbourhood, especially not recommended for families. All in all, Stuttgart is a very beautiful city where you can experience a lot. Stuttgart Zoo is a must.

Highligts

Schlossplatz, Killesberg, Wilhelma Zoo, Solitude Palace, Stuttgart Christmas Market

Hidden gems

Solitude Palace in Weilimdorf, Stuttgart television tower

Destination recommendation

There are lots of things to do, especially with the family (castle tour, zoo)

Pros

Many activities

Green corner (lots of forest and green space despite the industry

Cons

Restricted rail traffic at night

Many construction sites

Review

I'm a regular visitor to Stuttgart because it's just a beautiful city overall and there's lots to do. I love spending a whole day shopping there because the pedestrian zone is unbelievably great. You can find every shop you need and more. Unfortunately, it's always very crowded and hectic there, but at least it's spacious, so it's well spread out. Only Stuttgart 21 is very annoying.

What to do whilst staying in your Stuttgart rental home

If you come during the Spring or Summer, why not attend one of the local beer or wine festivals that take place annually. The wine festivals began because Stuttgart has a large wine industry and there are many vineyards in the area. Mainz is also a great city for wine-lovers as they have a wine market here in the August and September months. The Stuttgart Wine Village itself, a wine festival, attracts over 1 million people a year, this normally takes place in August so if you plan your trip around this time, you will also experience great warm weather, perfect for sitting outside in a café or restaurant. There are a large selection of places to eat out in Stuttgart, so if you want to try iout the local cuisine, there is of course sausage, potatoes with a side order of sauerkraut available in traditional German restaurants. There is also a variety of other cuisines, such as Chinese, Thai, Italian, etc to cater for every taste!

Stuttgart Rental homes – come rain or shine!

If you plan a trip during the winter months, then you will get to enjoy the German Christmas Markets – snack on gingerbread, toasted almonds and of course, Bratwurst! Sample the mulled wine and other hot drinks on offer at these markets as they keep you warm whilst walking around the stalls. The nearby locations of Baden-Baden and Karlsruhe also offer fantastic Christmas Markets and are well worth a day trip to whilst staying in Stuttgart. If you are wanting entertainment to keep you entertained until the early hours, then there are plenty of bars and clubs to choose from whilst you stay in one of the Stuttgart holiday apartments available online.

For those after culture, Stuttgart is not short of this either! There are the Old and New Castles which are well worth visiting, both over 200 hundred years old: For those who enjoy museums, the Stuttgart Art Museum is well worth going to as it offers masterpieces that are hard to find elsewhere. As this city is big for its auto-mobiles, there are the Porsche and Mercedes Benz Museum for those motorheads who would like to learn more about the companies and their fast cars!
