Le Havre - France's first modern UNESCO World Heritage city
The art museum Musée Malraux, or MuMa, has a fine collection of impressionist painting as well as many other works of art from the 14th to the 20th centuries. The Impressionist Itinerary walking tour takes you past some points, each with an information panel in place, where impressionist works were actually painted. The neighbouring town of Honfleur is also known for the amazing number of impressionist paintings featuring its picturesque houses and harbour. The contemporary arts centre and “cultural project” Le Portique always hosts interesting exhibitions. A Le Havre holiday apartment gives you the freedom to explore the surrounding area, like visiting the Abbaye de Montivilliers in the nearby town of the same name, or Mont St Michel, or Caen, going round one of the areas 11 hiking circuits. Our Le Havre holiday rental are centrally located, either near the Bassin du Commerce in the centre, or near the beach – a long pebble beach looking out onto the dark blue water, with a marina and opportunities to paddle board, windsurf, and sail.
