Enjoy a culture-filled holiday in France with Honfleur accommodation
Beautiful Honfleur, with its narrow, twisting streets and timber framed houses, is just across the Seine from the port of Le Havre, and not far from Paris by train or car. Honfleur has been painted many impressionist painters, Boudin and Monet among them. Once arrive in your holiday villa in Honfleur, you'll be able to see why - its narrow, winding streets and picturesque timber framed houses are truly inspiring. Our Honfleur accommodation is centrally located, and many are even less than 500m from the waters that are featured in so many works of art.
Fantastic architecture and marvellous beaches
While all the houses and buildings in the old centre are beautiful, do look out for La Lieutenance, the former residence of the king's steward, and the Porte de Caen, the old city gate. The entirely wooden church of Sainte Catherine, and the Quai de Sainte Catherine are also worth seeing. The Jardin des personnalités is a well-kept public garden filled with busts of famous figures who lived in or came from Honfleur, such as Monet, Charles Baudelaire and Charles V. For museum lovers, there is also the Musée Eugene Boudin, the Musée Satie (dedicated to the musician Erik Satie, who was born in Honfleur), and the Maritime Museum. The town is also filled with craft, print and art shops. A villa in Honfleur is the perfect holiday for culturephiles. You can take many day trips out from your Honfleur accommodation, too: across the impressive Pont de Normandie, to Le Havre, also a museum lover's dream, or down the coast to the twin beach towns of Deauville and Trouville-sur-Mer.
