Our journey through Normandy naturally also took us to Étretat, where the famous chalk cliffs, which have been photographed millions of times, are located. When we arrived in the afternoon, there was simply no free car park to be found, despite an endless search. So we cancelled and planned a very early visit the following day. This was the best decision, because where yesterday thousands of tourists were running along the paths like lemmings, we felt like we were on our own. We got some fresh croissants beforehand and the fantastic morning light rewarded us several times over for the disappointment of the previous day. Be sure to plan a longer tour and walk at least as far as the Pointe de la Courtine. The view is breathtaking!
