Le Mans holiday rentals - home of the 24h race
The town is home to one of France's largest cathedrals, the Cathedrale de Saint-Julien, whose construction lasted over 500 years! At the entrance of the cathedral there is a menhir, a Pagan standing stone, that dates back to at least 4000BC. One of the highlights of staying in a Le Mans holiday rental is seeing and exploring the Old Town, which is filled with brightly coloured 14th century houses, some timbered and some covered in stonework, as well as lovely cafés and gift shops. Museum lovers will enjoy the Carré Plantagenet, a history museum, and Le Musée de Tessé, a fine art museum. Racing fans will love having a Le Mans holiday rental for their visit to the host track of the 24 Hours of Le Mans – the oldest endurance sports car race that's still going. Europe is home to many great racing tracks, such as Silverstone in Northamptonshire, the Nürburgring in Nuremberg, and the Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo. For those who don't manage to book holiday rentals Le Mans for the big race itself in June, there are plenty of other events occurring at the track, and you can also have the chance to drive around yourself. Throughout summer, Le Mans visitors and residents are treated to La Nuit des Chimeres, a light show featuring seven epic scenes from history, projected onto the city's landmark buildings.
