La Plagne winter breaks: accommodation in the Alps
Located in the French Alps, the area of La Plagne is a modern ski-resort made up of charming villages. As a whole, La Plagne neighbours with Les Arcs, and therefore the two resorts form the “Paradiski” area, a skiing-hotspot within France. La Plagne boasts 100km² of ski area, with over 220km over ski slopes and a large off-piste area. If that is not enough for the most adventurous of thrill-seekers, ice-climbing can be done with supervision in certain areas – including old waterfalls – between December and March. Perfect for families, La Plagne also offers ski schools, ski-hire and the opportunity to try cross-country skiing, allowing something for everyone. Whatever your purpose for visiting La Plagne, Head to the village of Bella-Plagne for the liveliest après-ski atmosphere. Like many alpine resorts, La Plagne offers numerous wellness retreats and spas for exercise or rejuvenation. Whilst staying in your La Plagne accommodation, it could be worth visiting the closest city of Chambéry, the historical capital of the Savoy region and approximately an hour and a half from La Plagne by car.
