Skiing year round: Kaprun accommodation
Kaprun is a small town located in the region of Salzburg, just 15 minutes from Zell am See, a beautiful town situated on the Lake Zell within the Alps. At the foot of the Kitzsteinhorn mountain, Kaprun almost always guarantees snow year round; the first glacial ski resort in Austria is open from October to July. Accommodation in Kaprun is ideal for families. Set within a village style resort, the area offers over 40km of slopes and 9km of ski routes, with the majority of pistes being beginner and intermediate. After a day on the slopes, treat yourself to a break at the spa or one of the local Austrian restaurants. Whilst staying in Kaprun accommodation, Maiskogel is a popular attraction for families in summer or winter. Have a go on the “alpine coaster”, a toboggan run amongst the mountains – allowing a great opportunity to take in the surrounding views on the way up.
Between May and September, visit the Sigmund-Thun-Gorge, a magnificent and picturesque landscape in the midst of the mountains, where visitors can walk around the Klammsee reservoir, follow the path through the forest gorge, experience the natural waterfalls and visit the exhibition centre to learn more about the history of the area. Summer in Kaprun offers green meadows, crystal clear lakes and the opportunity to enjoy the surrounding mountains. Take hikes, follow cycling routes, go paddle boarding, have a go on Segways or try your hand at rock-climbing.
If you enjoy staying in your Kaprun holiday rental, why not consider exploring more of Austria?
