Galicia Holiday Homes & Galicia Villas

Galicia sits on the northeast corner of Spain, with the waves of the Atlantic breaking along the northern and western shores. The coastline is characterised by the many fjord-like rias, inlets formed after the last Ice Age, which are incredibly advantageous for fishing and surfing. The coastline is also known as the Seafood Coast because of the abundance of fishing and seafood.

On the coastline, visitors will find a stunning view of the ocean meeting the land against the rocky cliffs and outcroppings. Many towns are built directly onto the coast, and holiday homes Galicia and Galicia villas overlooking the ocean offer superb views of the sun setting into the Atlantic Ocean.

Further inland, visitors can explore the unique region that is markedly different from the rest of Spain. There are several low mountain ranges with criss-crossing streams and rivers. The picturesque landscapes are full of rivers and canyons, which make Galicia an excellent holiday destination for an adventure holiday.

There are plenty of landmarks to see in Galicia as well, most notably the city of Santiago de Compostela. The city, listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the goal of the Way of St James pilgrimage, as the city's cathedral was the burial site of the apostle St James. The cathedral is a truly bedazzling example of the Late Spanish Baroque architectural style. The influence of religion on the culture of Galicia is also evident in the pedras de abalar, or rocking stones, found throughout Galicia. These stones were once used to proclaim the innocense or guilt of an individual accused of committing a wrong-doing.

Plan your Galicia holiday and discover this fascinating region for yourself. A variety of great Galicia holiday homes, Galicia holiday apartments, and Galicia villas are available for you to find the perfect Galicia holiday accommodation.
