In the United States, three distinct mountain ranges provide an array of possibilities. By far the best mountain range, in terms of snow quality, is the Rockies. Utah and Colorado are famed for their killer slopes, drawing skiers and snowboarders from both coasts. For west coast residents who hope to stick closer to home, the Lake Tahoe area, which straddles California and Nevada Sierra Nevada mountain range, is home to dozens of top notch resorts with excellent snow conditions and ample powder. The hardest, iciest conditions are found in states such as Vermont, on the eastern coast of the United States, although this didn’t deter the X-Games from being hosted there a few years ago. |
