Skiing Holiday

Skiing Holiday Rentals

Cut through mountainsides of fresh sugary powder on your snowboard, use your skis to slice down the tightly packed snow of your favorite double black diamond slopes, or traverse the pristine, endless trails of white, wintry wilderness on a daring cross-country expedition. No matter where you live, a skiing holiday is a delightful way to spend your vacation, and there’s nobody who can’t use a few days in the mountains to get away from it all and add a diverting excursion to an otherwise dreary winter.

Indeed, a skiing holiday is just what the doctor ordered; whether you want a romantic getaway for two in a secluded, mountain cabin, a group holiday for university friends partying late at night and hitting the slopes early, or a family holiday at a comfortable ski resort with days of delight as the young ones learn to ski or snowboard for the very first time.

Some of the best destinations for skiers are in Europe and the United States. Taking the lift up from Innsbruck, Austria, a skier can enjoy a breathtaking vista of an endless Alpine mountain range. France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, not to mention the Nordic regions of Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway: all of these countries offer superb slopes and cross country trails for cross country skiers as well as downhill skiers and snowboarders. European ski resorts are first class, and conditions are superb. Natural snow falls down heavily throughout the winter months, creating the perfect, powdery conditions that you yearn for. The lodging and resort facilities are world-class, and those looking for equipment rental will find that the resorts, as well as shops in the nearby villages, rent equipment for a fair price.

In the United States, three distinct mountain ranges provide an array of possibilities. By far the best mountain range, in terms of snow quality, is the Rockies. Utah and Colorado are famed for their killer slopes, drawing skiers and snowboarders from both coasts. For west coast residents who hope to stick closer to home, the Lake Tahoe area, which straddles California and Nevada Sierra Nevada mountain range, is home to dozens of top notch resorts with excellent snow conditions and ample powder. The hardest, iciest conditions are found in states such as Vermont, on the eastern coast of the United States, although this didn’t deter the X-Games from being hosted there a few years ago.
