Detached south facing chalet built of solid wood in combination with rustic dry-stone walls. Large and uniquely elevated grounds in a private car-free wine village at the lake "Walensee". On the inside, there is a cosy living room with an open fire, a dining table, an integrated kitchen, and a small bar. To the south, there are two large panoramic sliding windows one of which opens up to the spacious terrace which is clogged with flagstones. The lush planting provides a privacy shield and allows the terrace to be used as an extended living room during the summer months. A large electric sun awning offers shade if needed.
On the upper floor, there is a sleeping room with a double bed, a single room and a gallery room with twin beds. The bathroom/toilet is also located on the upper floor. All bedrooms have their own sink and built-in wardrobe.
On the ground floor, there is a 4th bedroom with a bunk bed, sink and built-in wardrobe. There is a storage & laundry room with washing machine, freezer, storage space for the garden furniture and a mobile charcoal grill. You can also hang up your clothes for drying.
During the summer months, Quinten is an ideal destination for hiking and water sports. The lake "Walensee" is a popular sailing and wind surfing area and well known for its regular, usually daily winds between 3 and 4 Bft. Even 5 to 6 Bft. are not rare.
For nature lovers who are prepared to exchange the comforts of a central heating for a touch of "cottage romance" with open fire and mobile electric radiators the chalet offers an attractive alternative to practice winter sports:
The valley station of the aerial cableway "Unterterzen-Tannenbodenalp" is only located 5 km away. It takes you to the attractive skiing region "Flumserberg" with many lifts, cultivated ski tracks and the legendary "Terza"-downhill which certainly assumes good skill and snow conditions.

SourroundingsLocation description: Quinten is a pituresque wine place at the Walensee. The chalet in "Au" lies within easy walking distance of the actual village Quinten. The approx. 1 km long way takes you through a small forest and guides you along a large rock formation. In the small village, Dörfli" in Swiss German, you will find two nice lake restaurants (one of which is also opened in winter), a wine bar (which used to be a post office), a gift - and souvenir shop (handicraft work of resident ladies), a carving workshop and a chapel.
Quinten one of the last car-free places in Switzerland - can only be attained by foot (from Weesen and Walenstadt) or by ship. There are two ship stations, one in Quinten village and second one in Quinten Au. Ships, like the course ship Alvier, depart from Murg every day.

There is no supermarket or grocery shop in Quinten. The closest supermarket is across the river, in "Murg". However, a delivery service is available. You can place an order in the previous evening that will be brought to the course ship Murg-Au-Quinten the following day at 8.20. You can collect your order from shipping pier "Au" at 8.30. You will receive a bill which can be paid via transaction or in cash in the Spar branch. Up to a delivery value of CHF 50.- a fee of CHF 10.- will be charged. Over a value of CHF 50.- this fee will only cost 5.-.
The Spar branch also delivers the mandatory refuse bags. The waste disposal fee is included in the price.
The Spar branch manager, Mr. Otto Oess, is also the baker for the Spar markets in the region. You will also be able to order freshly baked bread.
