Today, the mountain is home for sheep flocks, potokas or Basque horses, deers, wild boars etc. In the neighborhood, you can also visit Neolithic sites, the Mairulegorreta Cave, the areas of Pagomakurre, Arratia or Duranguesado, all part of an ancestral itinerary that connects ancient Basque naturalistic and pagan beliefs with Lamina, Akerbeltz or jaun Zuria, amongst others, which, after Christianity were said to be land of witches and akelarres.
Zeanuri holds a rich heritage of “caserios” (traditional Basque country houses), the Axpe Palace and different chapels such as San Lorenzo, Santa Agueda, San Blas or San Andrés, as well as the churches of Santiago and Andra Mari (10th century). The local gastronomy includes a variety of cheeses. Besides, the area is also famous for basket making and medicinal plants.Food & beverageThe restaurant invites its guests to enjoy the local traditional cuisine with a modern touch. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.
