The city and state of Bremen is in the North West of Germany and is bordered completely by the German state of Lower Saxony. It is one of three city states in Germany alongside Hamburg and the capital Berlin respectively. The town of Bremerhaven is often classified as part of Bremen, although it is in Lower Saxony on the North coast of Germany.
The city centre boasts almost a village-like structure with many cobbled side streets alongside the long high street with retail stores and boutiques.
